Coordinator
Hey we’re WOCDC, and we’re hiring a HUE Coordinator to lead our Honouring Unapologetic Expression photo series and provide creative support to our marketing team to help foster a deeper sense of community through online engagements (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, etc.).
This is a hybrid volunteer position that includes both remote and in-person work when needed. This position also includes a $600 honorarium. We are currently accepting racialized women, femmes and non-binary people that are connected to or live in Durham Region, Ontario, as applicants. This is a position under a contract that extends to May 31st, 2024, with the possibility of renewal.

Where you come in:
WOCDC has been focused on increasing its community reach and ramping up its programs and internal operations. For 2024, we continuing our focus on the theme of reconnection, diving deeper into the untold stories of Durham Region, uncovering the current needs of the communities we serve and exploring the outdoors. We have an exciting year ahead, and we need a HUE Coordinator to help us move with intention.
Reporting to the Director of Marketing & Communications, you will be responsible for leading and executing our HUE project so that we may showcase both the beauty of our community and the beauty that exists across Durham Region.
What you’ll do:
- Lead and execute the fifth iteration of our HUE project
- Support ongoing WOCDC marketing initiatives and creative projects
- Work in partnership with the Marketing and Community Development teams to plan and launch HUE workshops
- Build and maintain strong relationships with Community members and partners, as well as other stakeholders
- Other duties as assigned
Successful candidates will possess the following (essential):
- Have a background in community engagement (experiences through education, employment or volunteering are accepted)
- Have strong photography and videography skills
- Work well in a highly collaborative environment
- Be ready to pitch creative ideas and lead them into implementation
- Have creative design and project management skills
- Have confident and engaging communication skills
