Hey we’re WOCDC, and we’re hiring a Director of Community Development to manage and expand our community programs as we scale to support the BIWoC community across Durham Region.

This is a volunteer position that includes in-person and remote work. We are currently accepting Black, Indigenous and other Womxn of Colour (BIWoC) applicants that are connected to or live in Durham Region, Ontario.

This is a part-time (minimum 4 hours and maximum 16 hours per week) paid position (honoraria) under a three-month contract, with the possibility of renewal.

What is WOCDC?

The Womxn of Colour Durham Collective (WOCDC) is a youth-led community organization in Durham Region, Canada that is run by, for, and with Black, Indigenous and other self-identified Womxn of Colour from the ages of 16-29+ with the purpose of making space for support and community.

Where you come in:

WOCDC has been focused on increasing its community reach, ramping up its programs and internal operations. We are approaching the next phase of our journey, where we heavily focus on diving deeper into the untold stories of Durham Region, reflecting the needs of our collective and scaling up to becoming a non-profit. This is going to be an exciting, stimulating and fun transition. We need a Director of Community Development to help us as we enter this new chapter.

Reporting to the Executive Director, you will develop and manage community programs, bolster engagement through relationship building with stakeholders, provide leadership to the Community Development team, and manage day-to-day activities.
